PuTTY facilitates the SSH session by referencing the private key stored locally on the Windows device during SSH authentication. When a public key is uploaded in JumpCloud, the public key is distributed to the Linux devices the user is connected to. 1) Open a command prompt and change directory to the putty directory: cd 'c:\Program Files (x86)\putty' 2) Enter the following command: putty -D 4096 .In addition, MobaXterm is an awesome alternative to PuTTY if you run an application that uses X Windows on your server. Type YorkProxy in the Saved Sessions box click Save Once the saved session is complete you are ready to connect. Unlike PuTTY, it comes with a multi-tab Windows terminal. JumpCloud manages the public key. PuTTY stores the private key that a Windows user creates. MobaXterm, formerly known as MobaXVT, is an excellent PuTTY alternative. The public key is displayed under Public Key for uploading into the User Portal.This master session remains as a tunnel through which subsequent SSH sessions can pass direct to the internal hosts. Open the private key you created in the preceding steps. Using just the putty client in windows you can create a single session where you perform the 2FA authentication.To collect the public key in the right format after the private key has been saved: The window displays that the public key is used for authentication and youâre asked for the passphrase. Go to Session and click Save. The private key is attached to the 192.168.0.100 PuTTY profile.Select the private key you created in the preceding section.Go to SSH > Auth > Credentials, and click Browse.In this example, the session string is 192.168.0.100.
